Iligan City is formerly known as the “Industrialized City of the South”. But, as we all know, a huge dilemma has struck Iligan City thus, losing this title and is now known as the “City of Beauty and Bounty” and the “City of Waterfalls”. Despite this fall, Iligan was able to find a way to rise from the ashes. It made use of the beauty hidden in the city.

One places and the things that have proved Iligan worthy to be chosen is its ever famous Maria Cristina. It did not just helped the city in terms of tourism but it supplies the life of the city. It is the source of electricity in Iligan City. A hydroelectric powerplant. Iligan have Tinago falls in which it is really “tinago” or hidden since you need to pass by the 500 steps staircase before you can see this hidden beauty. It would sure be worth-it since once you reach it, you can find yourself in awe with its beauty that soothes your soul. It also have Mimbalot falls and 20 other waterfalls. Iligan also have Timoga where pools are flowing and clean. Iligan also have Paseo de Santiago where the place is magnificent and serene to have a simple outing.

Iligan also has Cheding’s Peanuts, the ever famous delicacy that can only be found in Iligan City. Iligan also have the most famous sukang pinakurat. These delicacies are delicious and one of the tourist’s must have during a vacation here in Iligan.

Iligan is not just rich in tourist spots, but is also rich in culture. Iligan is composed of tri-people living in it, Muslims, Christians and Lumads. It is composed of people with different culture but are united and living in harmony.
So, why Iligan?
